The first Old Spice “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” commercials gathered a large audience but during its Super Bowl Halftime slot it gained the attention of the nation. Harnessing its recent celebrity, Old Spice (a division of Proctor & Gamble) reached out further and stepped into the social media scene. They asked community members (on Facebook, Twitter, 4chan etc.) to join in on the fun by sending them suggestions. The team then shot over 180 videos as the responses kept flooding in. It’s immense success across more than one medium (Tv and social media scene) make it one of this decades most innovative campaigns.
